I am currently a Web Application Developer at Next Jump. There I am one of the lead developers of the ONECart product.
There is never a dull moment when you are an engineer on a multi-merchant shopping cart with millions of users. Working on this I have faced incredibly challenging problems, especially after stepping up as product owner this last Q4 holiday shopping season. My job as an engineer on ONECart involves working tirelessly to build out new features, make UX improvements, integrate new merchants, adapt the cart's infrastructure, improve inventory loaders & refund jobs all within a continuous integration environment.
Next Jump has taught me to develop an intuition about making product improvements based on funnel analysis. It has also given me experience working with both business teams and directly with merchants. I prototype new features and use A/B tests to evaluate if they would have a direct impact on revenue. I often craft queries which the email team will use to target segments of the user base. I have helped the finance team to fix some tough reporting and tracking bugs. As well as worked with the CS team to develop cart specific customer service tools.
I truly appreciate my time at Next Jump. I have gotten to work directly with some amazing engineers. This job has given me the opportunity to have grown exponentially as both a developer and product owner. I feel the experience I have gained here to be invaluable. I am also very grateful to have just been recognized as a top ten employee for my work during the holiday season.
